CHANEL: The Little Black Jacket

18 Wooster Street. This address is the temporary home (one week to be exact) to iconic and inspiring imagery created and curated by none other than Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld. The collaborative project entitled, The Little Black Jacket pays tribute to the iconic piece that helps define the essence of the CHANEL woman. Lagerfeld and Roitfeld gathered a collective of 109 influential figures (celebrity, fashion, music and art related- the list goes on) to pose wearing the jacket.

These intimate portraits not only showcase some of the most stylish and not to mention beautiful individuals of our time, but to me, truly re-enforce the vitality and versatility of the CHANEL brand. CHANEL was my first introduction to luxury fashion, and being able to witness it’s evolution under Lagerfeld and attempt to understand Gabrielle Chanel’s vision has been re-affirmed me of the fact that having a voice and a vision is the key to having truly effortless personal style. This exhibition was reminiscent of that idea. A classic staple item portrayed by an incredibly diverse group of people, who all managed to look absolutely stunning? I couldn’t have asked for more. So thank you Karl and Carine for sharing even more of this beauty with us.
